How in the world do you pull up the on-screen keyboard on newer iOS with the OnlyKey duo plugged in?
I have searched online and have found no solutions. This is quite an oversight and very frustrating. I just recommended these to my boss as I have been very happy with them, but I have an Android. He just bought two of them, and I would hate to tell him that there is no solution. Please help!
On iOS, when a physical (Bluetooth or USB) keyboard is connected, the on-screen keyboard usually hides by default. However, you can force the on-screen keyboard to appear even when a physical keyboard is connected:
How to Show On-Screen Keyboard with External Keyboard on iOS
Open any app where you can type (e.g., Notes, Messages).
Tap into a text field to bring up the cursor.
Tap the down arrow (▾) or keyboard icon that appears in the bottom right corner of the screen (just above the on-screen keyboard area).
Tap “Show Keyboard” from the small toolbar that appears.
This will force the on-screen keyboard to stay visible alongside your physical keyboard.
Optional Setting to Always Allow It
You can also adjust settings to make the on-screen keyboard easier to access:
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards.
Turn on “Full Keyboard Access” (optional, for navigation).
You may also see an option like “Show Onscreen Keyboard” — toggle it on if available.
Note: Not all iOS versions or apps support simultaneous use of both keyboards fully.
