2 x DOA OnlyKey DUO's and LED's completely dark

I recently received two OnlyKey DUO devices, but I have been unable to get either of them to function. When plugged in, neither device shows any LED activity.

I have attempted to troubleshoot this across multiple systems:

  • Linux Systems: Tested on both Oracle Linux 9 and Ubuntu 22.04.
  • Mobile: Tested on an Android device.

I tried the following software configurations without success:

  • Installed OnlyKey App v5.5.0 via the .DEB package.
  • Installed via Snap, testing both the --beta and --devmode flags.
  • Applied the default 49-onlykey.rules (and dozens of variations), followed by udevadm control --reload-rules && udevadm trigger and countless reboots.
  • I also check permissions and trying custom permissions in the udev rules.

Despite these efforts, the hardware is not recognized by any of the operating systems, and the LEDs remain dark. Since both brand-new units are exhibiting the same behavior, I am seeking guidance on whether this is a known firmware issue or a potential hardware defect.

Jet

I had a similar issue with the black USB C case provided with the DUO, on a phone.

Did you try to remove DUO from it’s case and connect it directly on a USB A port?

I also just received a dead duo as well. No leds on either a Mac or a pc and switching case to a USBa/c adapter didn’t help.

Wonder if manufacturing glitch neglected to put firmware on some. I emailed orders and am hoping to hear back.
