I am not familiar with the Ultraedit text editor, does this happen in all text editors or just this one?
Ok, I believe that this is application specific. Both text editors have format parsing so are trying to complete the expression. Further testing reveled when the Duo is typing specific characters the application creates the close of the expression to the right of the cursor.
Specific characters that I have seen are ’ [ ] ( ) .
