Hi Everyone,

I have an issue with TOTP on my Onlykey it seems on my desktop PC it wont sync the time correctly, I have tried using the windows app, [https://apps.crp.to/](https://apps.crp.to/) and the CLI but OTP’s always fail to work.

Interestingly I have a windows laptop with the app installed if I plug the onlykey in to that it syncs the time and works fine, I can then take it out and put it back in to my desktop and it works fine for a couple of days then stops again.

Any ideas on this, I have checked the desktop time and its 100% accurate:

Do you have the desktop OnlyKey app installed on your PC. It sends the time to OnlyKey, since OnlyKey has no battery it is unaware of the time and needs the app to set the correct time. You can use a test seed for TOTP and compare it to what is generated here: [https://totp.danhersam.com/](https://totp.danhersam.com/)

Yes I do have it installed, I tried reinstalling it, I also tried setting the time with the CLI and the web page [https://apps.crp.to/](https://apps.crp.to/)

none of them seem to work on the desktop.

How very strange I tried a different USB port and it seems to work, any idea why the time wont sync on one specific USB port? the rest of the key works fine in this port.

I think I have figured this issue out.

If you just shut down the computer leaving the key plugged in, the software will not sync the time when it loads next time you boot and you unlock the key.

It will only sync the time on a hot disconnect and reconnect, is this a bug?
