# Accidentally set DUO pin longer than 10 numbers and can't change it

I accidentally set a 12-digit pin on my DUO. The DUO won’t accept it, so I cannot unlock it.

I can unlock it from the app. However, I cannot put the device in config mode, so I cannot change the pin.

How can I get out of this dead-end?

I figured out an awkward way to fix this:

1. Unlock using app
2. close app
3. hold down #1 for 10 seconds. Lights become black
4. Start app. Enter 12-digit pin
5. It’s now in config mode (blinking red light).
6. Change pin in app
